Project Status: Updated 19-05-2011
Fixed some bugs regarding multithreaded
fixed some Xbox implementation
Currently fighting with The physics engine to find the best way to make the character movement.


Project Status: Updated 19-04-2011
Implement new camera System,
Implemented better culling system
Fixed collisiong routines performance
Implemented new Object Type, Movable Platformer,
Implemented, Performance Monitors.
Implemented Paralax Screen WIth Camera
Implemented Multiple Cameras
Implemented Function to force update on Game Objects (Updated ofscreen)
Fixed a bug in Screen Manager
TODO::
Fix Some bugs in Collision detection,
Fix a Bug in Walljump.
Create new objects type
Check the collision routines Event Handling System.

Implement Player Actions:

  • Wall Jump
  • Sprinting
  • Long Jump

Completly redone the collision system, now its more stable and faster than before, this was because I made a mistake while coding the Rotation and stuff. Implement the Camera System
Added Level Loading to the engine, Currently working on The world manager (Physics, Culling etc)

I have finish the collision system, its Usuing SAT, and I implement Raytrace in int to make the collision more stable, The gameplay mechanics are somewhat implemented, running, accelaration, jumping, and a few others.
I am working on double jump, wall jump, speed jump. most be done in a few hours.

I have started creating the bases of the gameplay, and will soon be uploading a video showing some stuff of the engine.
I am still trying to find a good way to handle collision in the engine, because I feel its not good enough right now, I have some movement in the engine, but it still needs some tweaking.

Milestones
  • Set the Bases of the Engine ready to take on the game.
  • Build The GamePlay Elements (Movement, Combat,Items)
  • Create the obstacles(Enemys, Traps)
  • Menus
  • Particles and Effects
  • Create the levels and Script
  • Minigames (optional??)
  • Achivement System (optional)


What else do you think I am missing?

Well, while you are working on the game engine, I decided to start brainstorming game names!

  • Argent Thief
  • Corporate Escape
  • Corporate Ninja


Do these spark anything to you? Lol

  • Physics (Basically add physics as we go I guess)

Physics is a late thing, it depends on what you are talking about real physics is something I might try but later, meanwhile gameplay also means Game Physics.

Sound, will come at a later state once I manage to find a good way to put it in the engine Razz

Yeah, MSN would be cool or some other client of instant messaging, here in Portugal MSN is really popular but I have no problems in using Skype or AIM or XMPP or something like that...

I can't wait to see this, and with the art, just let me know what kind of animation we need. Heck, we could even make it so that we just leave the arms and legs off and program the stuff in for the position of the arms and legs. Whichever would be easier. Just throwing out ideas as the game designer, trying to make this as easy as we can with maximum fun!

Is that your system? That is awesome! I think the animation will be so smooth using this system! Wow, I am glad we have this team...I am working hard on the graphics, and I will work on the environment as soon as I can: probably Monday.

Can you try this please?

Its a demo of the camera system for the game and collision for the game,
Press Z to change Demos,
Arrow Keys move the Hero, scroll with the mouse to the border of the screen.

In the camera demo,
Pageup Pagedown,
A,D,
And Mouse to scroll

I tested it, and it works smoothly! This engine is coming along very nicely! Now, what are you planning with the mouse system? I noticed in both of the demo files, you have used the goo mouse, and I was wondering if you were wanting us to implement the mouse into the game? For the camera scrolling, I kind of wanted a loose-camera follow on the player, but allow them to zoom in and out of it when they want to.

The mouse was just a pointer and some fun I had lol.

Thank goodness! I was hoping that it was because of college you couldn't work on it! I will have a lot of time coming up, so I can start working on it more too, right now I have been busy with finals and all that fun stuff. When summer hits, let's try to organize this more and get some stuff done! Thank you for updating us though. If only Morph will tell us what he is up to. Razz
